2020 Bibliometrics and Research Assessment Symposium

2020 Bibliometrics and Research Assessment Symposium

In response to the constraints imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Bibliometrics and Research Assessment Symposium will be an online event held on October 7–9, 2020. Providing the Symposium entirely online will provide the organizers, speakers, and attendees with more certainty in planning for the event and allows for broader participation from across the country and around the world.

Registration for the symposium is now open at the symposium website: nihlibrary.nih.gov/bibsymp20

We are also now accepting submissions for presentations, posters, and training sessions to be presented during the symposium. We welcome submissions for presentations and posters on all topics related to bibliometrics and research assessment, including:

  • Sample bibliometric programs or program initiatives
  • Challenges or lessons learned in doing bibliometrics or providing bibliometric services
  • Examples of bibliometric analyses or research evaluations
  • Original research on bibliometrics and research assessment
  • Other related topics

We also welcome proposals for training sessions on bibliometric theory and practice, use of bibliometric databases (Web of Science, Scopus, Dimensions, etc.) and tools (VosViewer, CiteSpace, Sci2, Publish or Perish, etc.), or other topics related to bibliometrics and research assessment.

Submissions should be made through the submission form on the symposium website. The deadline is July 17, 2020. Notifications of accepted submissions will be made in early August.

Sign language interpreters and other reasonable accommodations can be provided for this event. If you require such accommodations, please contact Ya-Ling Lu (ya-ling.lu@nih.gov).
