Virtual Reality Demonstrations at NIH Safety, Health & Wellness Day

VR Demos

Are you intrigued by Virtual Reality (VR)? Have you wondered how VR technology could help you with your research or thought about the ways it might help you stay fit? Come to the NIH Safety, Health & Wellness Day event, where the NIH Library will be offering Virtual Reality demonstrations. The demonstrations will be available in the Building 10 south entrance lobby on Wednesday, June 27, 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

During the demonstrations, you will get to experience cardiovascular fitness while using the NIH Library’s HTC Vive system. The Vive system has room-scale VR which allows the user to walk around and interact in a virtual space through a VR headset and two motion-tracked handheld controllers. NIH Library staff will also be available to answer questions about how VR can be used in biomedical research, for fitness, and for other research applications. For more information about the NIH Library’s Virtual Reality service, request a consultation by the NIH Library’s Technology Hub Team.

The NIH Library in Building 10 serves the information needs of NIH staff and select Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies. The NIH Library is part of the Office of Research Services (ORS) in the Office of the Director (OD).NIH Library classes, events, resources, and services, subscribe to our e-news
