It is my pleasure to share updates from the NIH Library with you. These are only a few of the many projects and initiatives we are working on.

With the holiday season upon us, it is a great time to reflect on the past year, celebrate our many successes, and plan for the future. In my previous messages, I’ve highlighted some of the NIH Library’s achievements over 2017.

The NIH Library is now offering JAWS and ZoomText assistive technologies in the Library’s Technology Hub.

Although the summer months may traditionally be a time to slow down, the NIH Library is making exciting progress on several initiatives.

The National Week of Making (June 17-23, 2016) celebrates the ingenuity and creativity of the diverse community of inventors in the Maker Movement. Join in celebrating the National Week of Making with a special symposium at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) titled “Making Health: Inspiring Innovative Solutions for Research and Clinical Care.”

Through the NIH Library’s Technology Sandbox, a 2014 trial of 3D printers exposed NIH staff to cutting edge technology for work and research. The pilot was so successful that the Library is now permanently offering free 3D printing services. ​​
