Nancy Muir joined the NIH Library in 2021. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Wittenberg University and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Maryland. Her first positions as a librarian were with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and Gillette Medical Evaluation Laboratories. Between 1997 and 2004 she worked at the FDA Library. During this time, she served as an informationist and was promoted to Lead Librarian for Instructional Services. Beginning in 2004, she began leading the MedImmune virtual library and her role was expanded to include training, competitive intelligence, and management of content for the biotech's R&D intranet. Today, she leads the Educational Services Branch and serves as the liaison to Bibliometrics, Communications, Expert Searching, Informationists, Point of Contact, and Training teams in the NIH Library.
