Tracy Shields joined the NIH Library in March 2023. She has over 15 years’ experience in academic- and hospital-based settings where she has conducted in-depth literature searches, instructed users in resources, supported graduate medical education, and produced knowledge synthesis products such as systematic reviews. As a clinical librarian Tracy has rounded with inpatient pediatrics, inpatient psychiatry, cardiovascular intensive care, and diagnostic management teams. Prior to joining the NIH Library, Tracy was the reference librarian at Naval Medical Portsmouth in Virginia, serving active duty military healthcare providers and trainees. Other work experiences include medical writing and editing, and pharmacology research.
