Learn how to make your searches of PubMed more efficient and get the most out of the tools available. PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine and preclinical sciences, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine and the health care system. It includes journal article citations and abstracts from MEDLINE and other sources.

Session Description

In this session, we will introduce you to advanced search techniques and useful PubMed search tools. Specifically, you will learn to search with MeSH and combine with keywords for good retrieval. You will also learn to determine how to use truncation, nesting, phrase searching, and Boolean operators to focus your PubMed search. The use of filters, search tags and Advanced Search features will also be shared. Finally, exporting your results to a citation management tool such as EndNote and create alerts to keep up the latest literature on a topic will be covered.
