Learn how to make your searches of PubMed more efficient and get the most out of the tools available. PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine and preclinical sciences, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine and the health care system. It includes journal article citations and abstracts from MEDLINE and other sources.

Session Description

An introduction to PubMed’s content, tools, and features will be provided. The steps to conduct a search and access journal full-text in PubMed will be shared along with suggestions on how to make your PubMed searching experience more fruitful. We will review how to use Boolean operators and apply PubMed filters to your searches. Additionally, creating a MyNCBI account and how to save searches, create collections of selected citations, and set search alerts will be discussed. By the end of the class, you will be better prepared to search PubMed and use its powerful tools.
