Interested in how your journal articles and datasets are being discussed online? NIH researchers: request a customized Altmetric report that shows the level of attention your research is getting in social media, news, blogs, policies, patents, and other sources. See how it is being received and interacted with on a global level as soon as it is published, or use an Altmetric report along with traditional citation analyses for a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the impact of your research.
Get Started
Submit a request for an Altmetric report through the NIH Library Ask a Question form. NIH Librarians will search the Altmetric Explorer database using a list of PubMed IDs (PMIDs) and/or digital object identifiers (DOIs) related to your publications. The resulting report (see example) includes:
- Total number of mentions in news, blogs, policy, patents, X (Twitter), peer review sources, Facebook, Wikipedia, Google+, Reddit, Faculty Opinions, Q&A, and videos
- Publications with the highest Altmetric Attention Scores
- Charts displaying number of mentions over time
Additional Altmetric data can be requested as part of a more comprehensive citation analysis from the NIH Library Bibliometric Service.
