The NIH Library’s Multimedia Services empower staff to integrate advanced audiovisual technologies into their research. We provide access to state-of-the-art hardware, software, and dedicated spaces, along with on-demand training and personalized consultations. Our goal is to support innovation and discovery by offering the tools and expertise needed to enhance your projects.
What We Offer
We offer a variety of specialized equipment, software, and services to help spark creativity and broaden your technology skills. Our resources include:
- Recording Studio: A self-service studio equipped with professional audio and video recording tools, including a digital audio recorder, video camera, microphones, soundproofing, green screen, and lighting kit. Editing software like Adobe Creative Cloud and Camtasia is available on Library workstations.
- Record-on-the-Go Kits: Portable kits containing a high-definition video camera, webcam, desktop microphone, tripod, and ring light. Ideal for recording on-site or in the field, these kits can be reserved and checked out for one week.
- Workspaces: Reserve a workspace equipped with licensed and open-source software for video production, data visualization, web and graphic design, and 3D printing. Workspaces can be accessed in-person or remotely during Library hours.

Whether you're new to multimedia tools or looking to expand your skills, our Library staff are here to help. Schedule a tutorial or one-on-one consultation to learn more about the technologies and resources available to you. We also offer virtual consultations for assistance with Record on the Go kits and other equipment.
