Library Privileges and Borrowing

The NIH Library is a biomedical reseach library whose collections and services are developed to support the programs of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and selected U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agences. Only personnel within the NIH and selected HHS agencies may borrow books, use staff photocopiers, request computer searches, and receive other Library services for government related work. An NIH ID card (your PIV badge) is required to access these services.

The loan period for books is four weeks. Journals and Reference books do not circulate. The NIH Library has a renewal period of 14 weeks from the date of checkout.
