About the uPrint SE Plus
The uPrint is an entry level professional 3D printer. The most distinctive feature is the dissolvable supports. The library has a heated chemical bath for melting away supports without harming the ABS model. The printer has a heated printing chamber that reduces cracking and curling, which can sometimes be a problem when printing with ABS. The uPrint also prints with excellent precision.
The printer uses CatelystEX to prepare STL files for the printer. A training video is located on the NIH Library's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr53hVL2mEc. CataleystEX is available in the pods and on the computers on the raised platform. As the printer is networked, customers simply click the Print button at the end of the slicing process, and the model is added to the print queue.
