Access Research Tools and Services through the CMS Virtual Library
This one-hour online training will provide an overview of the CMS Virtual Library, an online resource designed specifically to support the information needs of CMS staff. This training will discuss CMS Virtual Library services and information resources. Advanced PubMed
This one-hour online training will cover some advanced features of using the PubMed interface. This training will demonstrate how to use special, customizable features of PubMed to improve their searches and save and manipulate search results.

Audition is a toolset that includes multitrack, waveform, and spectral display for creating, mixing, editing, and restoring audio content. This audio workstation is designed to accelerate video production workflows and audio finishing.
Bibliometric Services
As part of our Research Analytics services, the NIH Library’s Bibliometric Service provides publication analysis to NIH staff. The service uses analytics to understand and evaluate the publications produced by intramural NIH scientists and institutions at NIH.

Grant and funding information sources
NIH RePORTER: (Freely available) Grant information, associated publications, and associated patents (if available) for grants funded by NIH.
Publication data sources
PubMed: (Freely available) Extensive database of publications about or related to biomedicine. Especially useful for biomedical topic searching and for identifying publications funded by NIH Institutes and Centers.
Document Delivery
The NIH Library provides access to a premier collection of scholarly resources to support research at NIH and HHS, including thousands of journals and books in print and electronic format. The NIH Library’s Document Delivery service helps get items not held by the NIH Library through the free ILLiad online request system.

HHS Digital Library
The NIH Library has partnered with segments of HHS to offer the HHS Digital Library, an online portal with a wide range of library resources and services. The HHS Digital Library is for staff from participating HHS agencies: ACF, ACL, AHRQ, HRSA, IHS, IOS, OS, PSC/FOH, SAMHSA. Staff from those agencies must log in to the HHS Digital Library for access to the resources listed on this page.
How can I renew books I've checked out?
NIH Library books can be renewed for an additional four weeks, if there are no holds for the books. Checked out books may be renewed three times before the material must be returned to the NIH Library Information Desk. Renew NIH Library books online or call the Information Desk 301-496-1080. In the event you are forwarded to voicemail please leave your first and last names, telephone number, and the personal identifier number from the back of your NIH ID badge. The books will be renewed. If there are any problems, you will be notified.
Visit the Online Catalog. Use the "NIH Staff Sign in" link in the top right to log in to your account. Then click on your name to use the "MY LIBRARY ACCOUNT" link to view your items to renew.
Introduction to EndNote Desktop
This one-hour online training will cover importing records into EndNote Desktop, creating, managing, and sharing EndNote libraries, and inserting formatted citations into a Word document using the “Cite While You Write” feature.
